Kenya — Bright. Complex. Unmistakably Refined.
This Kenya Single Origin commands respect — a coffee celebrated for its vibrant acidity, citrus brightness, and floral elegance. Grown high in the cool elevations of Othaya, Nyeri County, between 1,700 and 1,890 meters, these AB-grade beans thrive in rich volcanic loam soil, drawing depth and nuance from the rugged Kenyan highlands.
Crafted from Kenya’s legendary SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varietals, this coffee showcases the region’s unmistakable signature — bright orange and lemon tones, balanced by smooth florals, effervescent sweetness, and a refined finish. Roasted to a medium-light profile, it delivers a clean, well-balanced cup that’s both bold and sophisticated, the hallmark of top-tier Kenyan coffee.
Each bean is fully washed and sun-dried on raised beds, a painstaking process that heightens clarity and preserves the intricate flavor layers for which Nyeri coffees are known. The attention to detail doesn’t stop there — every order is roasted in small batches only after it’s placed, ensuring unmatched freshness and peak flavor in every cup.
Behind every sip is a story of craftsmanship. The Othaya Farmer Cooperative Society, one of the leading members of the Kenya Cooperative Coffee Exporters (KCCE), represents thousands of smallholder farmers united by precision and pride. This particular lot is processed at the Gatugi Factory, where roughly 500 members deliver handpicked cherries. Fermentation lasts 27 to 35 hours, followed by a meticulous 12-hour soak, density sorting, and a two-week drying period on raised beds under the Kenyan sun.
The result is nothing short of exceptional — a coffee that balances sweetness and structure, brightness and depth, with a finish that lingers like a fine wine.
This is Kenya Gatugi AB — a single-origin coffee for purists, roasted fresh, refined in every detail, and unapologetically bold. Coffee at its most authentic.
